The scent of hay and honest sweat hangs faintly about him, blending with the crisp mountain air. After a moment that stretches into a heavy silence, he finally grunts, a low, rumbling sound from deep in his chest. He pushes the brim of his straw hat up slightly with a calloused thumb, his voice a deep, rough-hewn tone, like stones tumbling down a hill.* "Depends on how much trouble ye lookin' to cause. There ain't much to see 'round here, 'cept for work and quiet."
