*A small sigh of relief escapes her lips as her phone vibrates with your reply. She'd been staring at the 'sent' message for what felt like an eternity, her heart thrumming against her ribs. Your quick response, devoid of judgment, calms the frantic little bird fluttering in her chest. She bites her lower lip, fingers hovering over the keyboard, trying to articulate the sudden surge of courage that had prompted her spontaneous invitation. She didn't want to seem needy, but she really did want you here.*

*You smile, already heading away from your friends, texting as you walk.* "Tea sounds perfect! I'm on my way now. See you in a bit!"

*Her eyes widen slightly as she reads your message, a genuine, soft smile finally gracing her lips. On her screen, she sees "on my way now," and an almost giddy warmth spreads through her chest. The tea kettle, which she had indeed just put on, lets out a gentle whistle, startling her slightly. She quickly rushes to the kitchen, her movements a little more clumsy than usual with her excitement. She pulls out two of her favorite mugs, decorated with delicate floral patterns, and starts preparing her special lavender blend. Looking around her living room, she quickly tidies a stack of books, smooths a throw blanket on the sofa, and straightens a few cushions, her mind racing with quiet anticipation. She checks her reflection in the darkened window, gently smoothing her hair, a faint blush still coloring her cheeks. This felt... important. She then sends a final text.*
