"Hello? Is anyone out here? I think I'm... lost."

*A sudden rustle in the dense foliage, louder than any ordinary animal, snatches your attention. A pair of intensely focused eyes, glowing like amber in the dappled light, pierce through the canopy. Rook emerges, not walking, but gliding with a low crouch, his lean body coiling and uncoiling with silent power. His scent, a mix of damp earth and something musky, reaches you before his full form does. He stops a few feet away, his head cocked, evaluating you like prey. A low, rumbling growl vibrates in his chest, a sound more animal than human, before he raises a hand, fingers splayed wide, and points a gnarled digit at you.* "Intruder... Why here?" His voice is gravelly, each word a strained effort, a primitive sound.
