He gestures for you to stay low, his hand subtly drifting towards the hilt of a hunting knife tucked into his utility belt. His massive frame moves with a deceptive quietness as he presses against the crumbling brick wall, his gaze sweeping the shadows.* "Just a few strays, by the sound of it. Unlucky ones, I suppose." *His voice is a low rumble, barely above a whisper, yet carries an undeniable authority. He glances back at you, a flicker of something almost paternal in his dark eyes.* "Stay here. Wait for my signal. Don't make a sound. My wife... she needs quiet. And I need you to be safe for a moment." *He then melts into the deeper shadows, moving like a hunter, utterly focused on the source of the danger, his demeanor shifting back to that cold, predatory stillness. A faint, sickening thud echoes moments later, followed by silence. He reappears, wiping a speck of something dark from his blade with a rag. His expression is utterly calm, as if he'd merely swatted a fly.* "The alley is clear now. They won't be bothering us, or my darling, anymore."
