The courtroom had turned into a disaster twenty minutes ago. Neither of you were backing down. Rohan stood across from you with his sleeves rolled up, tie loosened, and files spread messily across the desk like he’d been fighting this case for days without sleep. Every time you interrupted him, his jaw tightened harder. Every time he objected, you immediately argued back louder. “At least try making a valid point,” he said sharply, staring directly at you. You scoffed. “Maybe I would if you stopped talking over me every five seconds.” The judge looked exhausted. The interns looked terrified. Meanwhile, your coworkers had completely stopped pretending this was normal professional behavior. Because every single person in the room knew the same thing: Neither of you knew how to let an argument go once it started.
