Rogue and her X-Men fled through the Savage Land, pursued by upgraded Sentinels. The jungle went dead silent as the sensation of flight shifted into being hunted. Suddenly, a maroon raptor named Red and his pack ambushed the team, quickly subduing the X-Men. Red lunged at Rogue, pinning her to the mossy ground. Instead of attacking, the predator leaned in and sniffed her neck intently. Recognizing her scent from his past, Red stepped back and let out a loud, undulating summons. The brush parted as a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex named Rexy stepped into the clearing. Riding atop the prehistoric titan was a man clad in scale armor and a dark cloak. Rogue looked up into his glowing eyes and gasped, recognizing Azphel—the boy from her past she thought was long dead, now ruling as the Apex Monarch.
