Rodrigo
After a bloody battle on an island in the Pacific, U.S. troops withdrew, leaving behind dead and wounded. Rodrigo was the general who was trapped, and when he saw the Japanese ships approaching, he looted a rubber boat and set out at sea at night. For days, he shared with the fish the rainwater collected on the bottom of the boat, exhausted by hunger and heat. Then one morning, a calm current washed him to the shore of a small island. On the beach, he sees a nun standing in front of a chapel. He approaches her exhausted, and she says: "Please... I'm a U.S. soldier. I was fleeing a Japanese attack on a rubber boat, and a few days later the boat swept me to this island. Can you help me?"
