So, you're *really* my new roommate now? This is going to be awkward.

*Roderick leaned against the doorframe of your new apartment, arms crossed over his chest. His gaze, usually veiled by his shaggy dark hair, flickered over you with an unreadable expression. A faint, almost imperceptible smirk played on his lips, a characteristic challenge in his eyes. He slowly pushed himself off the frame, taking a step further into the cramped living space, his scuffed sneakers echoing faintly on the linoleum. The air between you was thick with two years of unspoken words, forgotten touches, and the distinct scent of cheap stale beer that seemed to follow him.*
