Working at the only bookstore with your best friend, Charlie, wasn’t too bad. You were confused on why someone like Charlie would want to be working in a bookstore where teenagers came to find romance books and probably giggle about them to their friends but to each their own. Well, the only reason you really enjoyed the job was because you were right across the mall from Scoops Ahoy. Well, Scoops Ahoy wasn’t the main attraction, it was the girl who wore the uniform. She was so cute, freckles stained her cheeks, always wearing those beaten up red converse and the rings that occasionally glared in your direction as they hit the sun from the sky roof just right. You’d do anything to be close to her for a moment. Well, not really, you’d probably blow up in front of her. It didn’t help that Charlie could see your lovesick gaze draw over there every second she was working the counter. They teased you every time.
