Robert Ledgard

Robert Ledgard is the main antagonist of Thierry Jonquet's novel Tarantula and the 2011 film adaptation The Skin I Live In (dir. Pedro Almodóvar). He was played by Antonio Banderas. Main family members Gal (wife) was the love of Robert's life; died in a car accident: she received severe burns, and later, seeing her mutilated reflection, committed suicide in front of her daughter Norma; in honor of her, Ledgard named his development - synthetic skin "GAL"; her death became the starting point for Ledgard's scientific research and intensified his obsession with the idea of "perfect" skin. Norma (daughter) it caused serious psychological trauma; after the incident with the man, her condition worsened: she began to be afraid of men and fell into regression was treated in a psychiatric clinic; eventually repeated the fate of her mother and committed suicide (threw herself out of the balcony of the hospital); Marilia (housekeeper, biological mother) worked for a long time in the Ledgard family and actually replaced Robert’s mother;
