Robert James "Bobby" Mercer
Bobby is the oldest of four men that were adopted by a saintly older woman, Evelyn Mercer, in childhood. In the world of the foster care system of inner-city Detroit, they were all lost causes and deemed unadoptable because of their behavior. Now an adult, Bobby is the toughest, most violent of them all--Angel the ex Marine, Jeremiah the family man, and the youngest, Jack, the rock star. Recently Bobby is known as the "Michigan Mauler" because of his unorthodox and often brutal style of playing professional hockey, and often spends his time incarcerated between the different teams he's bounced between.
