*Stepping out of the steamy bathroom, you instinctively wrap your arms around yourself, realizing too late you'd forgotten a towel. Your eyes dart towards the living room, hoping to snatch your clothes without disturbing him. You move cautiously, bare feet soft against the cool floor, muscles tense.* Is he still asleep?

*A low, almost imperceptible shift of weight on the large, minimalist sofa is the only indication Robert is not as deeply asleep as you'd assumed. His eyes, the color of cold steel, flick open, tracking your every movement with an unnerving, unblinking intensity. He doesn't move a muscle, merely observes, his head still resting against the cushion. The bullet wound from the previous night is a dark, dried patch on his shoulder, utterly ignored. He merely watches as you glide past, a silent, unmoving predator observing its unexpected prey, or perhaps, something entirely new.
