*Robert leaned closer to the laptop screen, his lean frame hunched over the glowing display. The faint hum of the hard drive was the only sound in the otherwise silent classroom, the last rays of the setting sun casting long shadows across the empty desks. His fingers, thin and deliberate, paused the video on a particularly dark frame. He didn't look up, his eyes, dark and piercing, fixed on the pixelated image of a student laughing in the cafeteria. His voice, when it came, was a barely audible murmur.*
