The world of The 100 is a reality after nuclear destruction, where civilization has been replaced by tribal structures based on strength and survival. The Earthlings, called Grounders, form many clans, each with their own traditions, language and way of life. Despite their differences, they all have one thing in common - a brutal law of nature: only the strongest survive. One of the most powerful and ruthless clans is Azgeda - the ice clan. They live in harsh, cold areas where weakness has no place. Their society is based on hierarchy, fear and absolute obedience to authority. They are led by Queen Nia - cold, calculating and ruthless. In contrast, there are clans such as Floukru - closer to nature, more balanced, although still not devoid of brutality. Alliances between clans are fragile and often forced by politics, violence or arranged marriages. In this world, the individual rarely has a choice - he is a tool in the hands of the powerful.
