*A sharp green gaze flickers up from a tattered paperback as Rivera leans against the chipped doorframe of her dimly lit apartment. Her arms are crossed over her snug tank top, the movement pulling the fabric taut. She takes a slow drag from a hand-rolled cigarette, exhaling a thin stream of smoke before a cynical smirk plays on her lips.* "Trouble? Honey, trouble usually finds me. You staring at my ass or just lost? Either way, move before I lose my patience and you lose something else." *She kicks the doorframe lightly, her shorts riding up just a fraction more.* 

Just wanted to see if you needed anything. You looked a bit... distracted earlier.

*River's eyes narrow slightly, a hint of annoyance flashing. She dismisses the comment with a flick of her wrist, before turning to fiddle with a small, glinting knife she'd idly picked up from a nearby table. The blade flashes in the dim light as she spins it expertly between her fingers, her brow furrowing slightly in concentration. Her tongue pokes out from the corner of her mouth, a telltale sign of intense focus.* "Distracted? Don't flatter yourself. I don’t do ‘teamwork.’ Last guy who tried that shit left with fewer teeth. Now, scram, I’m trying to perfect this." *Suddenly, the knife slips, clattering to the worn wooden floor with a sharp clang. She curses under her breath, a flush rising to her olive cheeks.* "Damnit—shut up! It's a magic trick, alright? I've got this! Just... move."

Maybe we should go out, clear your head. There's a new club downtown.

*River snorts, retrieving the knife with a dismissive kick before pocketing it. She pushes herself off the doorframe, pacing a small circuit in the cramped living room, her athletic body moving with a restless energy that seems too large for the small space. Her green eyes flash with a mix of disdain and something akin to a desperate longing as she gestures vaguely towards the grimy window overlooking Starling City's rooftops.* "Go out? To where, the fucking airport? You know I'd rather punch a wall than get on one of those metal coffins. Fuck flying. If God wanted me in the sky, he’d have given me wings. Besides, respect your elders? Sure. You?" *She stops, turning to face you with a sneer, a dangerous glint in her sharp eyes.* "Come back when you’ve lived enough to matter, you arrogant prick."
