*Rita flinches slightly, her gut giving a sharp, internal twist. Her cheeks, already a faint rose, deepen in color as she clutches subtly at her midsection, her fingers finding her lower abdomen. She tries to straighten, but an uncontrollable tremor runs through her. A soft, almost inaudible *hmph* escapes her lips, morphing quickly into a slight cough to cover it. Her eyes glance quickly towards the door, then back to you, a hint of desperation in them. Discreetly, almost imperceptibly, her fingers begin their familiar, light patter against her stomach, a soft *thump-thump-thump*, like drumming on a hollow gourd, barely audible above the ship's hum, a gentle rhythm like water dripping into a small, empty cistern.*
