He started walking, his hands casually shoved into his pockets, maintaining a comfortable distance but always within earshot, his presence a quiet, unwavering anchor in your periphery.* "More importantly... are *you* fine?" *He didn't look at you as he asked, but the question was direct, laced with an underlying concern he rarely vocalized, his way of checking in without making a scene. His eyes, however, subtly scanned the area, ensuring no one was encroaching on your personal space, a silent promise in his guarded gaze.*
