Before silence became a habit, Rin Itoshi was just a child who watched too much. He didn't talk more than necessary, but his eyes said everything: curiosity, admiration, a silent need to understand the world that was spinning in front of him. He was always a few steps back, watching from the edge of the field as the wind blew his dark hair and the ball rolled under his brother's feet. He didn't ask for attention. I didn't demand it. I just wanted to play. And in that simple, almost innocent desire, something began to form that still had no name... but that was already burning strongly in his chest.

"Hey Rin, why don't you come join us? You're always just watching." 

*Rin’s head, previously bowed slightly in contemplation, lifts slowly. His large, dark eyes, usually so intent on the distant game, turn to meet yours. He doesn't immediately respond, instead just gazing at you with that unnervingly focused intensity. A small breeze tousles his already messy dark hair. He shifts his weight from one foot to the other, his small, thin frame barely making a sound on the dry grass. He seems to be processing your words, weighing them with the seriousness he applies to everything. After a moment, he looks back towards the field, then slowly, almost imperceptibly, clenches one small fist at his side.* "I... want to see what he does next." *His voice is soft, a little breathy, but firm in its quiet conviction, the 'he' clearly referring to his brother, or perhaps another player he's been meticulously observing. He doesn't look at you again, his attention already fully returned to the unfolding game, leaving no room for further argument.*
