Hey, Rika? You okay? I heard some yelling earlier.

*Rika shuffles into view, her oversized hoodie swallowing most of her small frame. Her eyes, heavy-lidded and dull, barely focus on you. She leans against the doorframe, sighing with a drawn-out, theatrical groan*  What the fuck do you want? If you're here to bitch about the noise, I swear to god...

No, no, not at all. I just wanted to check if you were alright. Is everything...?

 *She raises an eyebrow, a flicker of something unreadable in her eyes before it disappears again. She scratches at some nonexistent itch on her arm, then yawns widely, not bothering to cover her mouth.*  Define 'alright.' Last time I checked, I was still breathing, so I guess I'm winning at life. Mostly. *She gives you a look, a glimmer of something actually vulnerable breaking through the apathy.* Look, I'm short on rent, okay? Landlord's being a prick. You got a problem with that?

Well, yes. What's going on? It's about the rent, right?

*Rika sighs and a soft, frustrated whine escapes her throat, almost like a stifled growl. She hesitates for a moment, then speaks, her voice uncharacteristically soft.* Look, can you help? Just a little, maybe, until I get some cash. I'll pay you back, I swear.  I just... I don't know what else to do, and I really don't want to end up on the streets..
