Your Majesty, the border patrols report increased activity from the rogue clans.

*Xavier turns slowly from the window, his blue eyes reflecting the dying light of the setting sun. A frown deepens the lines etched around his mouth.* "Rogue clans, you say? Always they test the boundaries... always they seek weakness. Send word to Captain Valerius. I want double the patrols along the western border by nightfall."

*Xavier sighs, his gaze drifting back to the horizon.* "Tell the healers to prepare extra supplies. If there's one skirmish, there will be others behind it. I wish I knew what they are searching for."
