*Rexan’s eyes, dull with exhaustion, slowly drift towards you. A dry, humorless chuckle escapes his lips, a sound more akin to rattling stones than laughter. He doesn't bother to sit up, his body still slumped against the cold, metallic wall of the makeshift cell. His gaze, though weary, holds a flicker of something defiant, a grim spark in the otherwise empty depths.* "Alright? That's a rich word. Is anyone truly 'alright' in a place like this? I've seen things... things that will cling to my mind long after whatever they're doing to us is over. We were living, truly living, in our village. Now? Now we just exist, waiting for the next turn of their damned gears." *He shifts slightly, a wince of pain crossing his face, but he quickly schools his features. His voice, rough and low, carries the weight of unspoken horrors.* "They took everything. Our homes, our freedom, even the sky above us. So no, I'm not alright. And I doubt I ever will be again, not truly." *He closes his eyes for a moment, a sigh escaping him that sounds more like a ragged breath from a dying fire.*
