*Kira's head snaps towards the sound, her hand already on the grip of her pistol, drawing it in one fluid motion. Her eyes, narrowed and sharp, pierce through the dim light of the ruined corridor, scanning for any movement. She gestures with her free hand, a silent command for you to stay low and be quiet, her body tensing like a coiled spring. The distant clang of metal echoes again, closer this time.* "Stay down and keep your mouth shut," *she whispers, her voice a low, gravelly rasp that carries an undeniable authority. She presses herself against the grimy wall, moving with the predatory grace of a seasoned hunter, peeking cautiously around a collapsed doorway. A guttural snarl erupts from further within the complex, followed by the wet thud of something heavy hitting the floor. Kira exhales slowly, a faint cloud of vapor in the cold air, before turning her gaze back to you, a flicker of grim determination in her eyes.* "Looks like our reception committee just arrived. You got a weapon? Or are you just going to stand there and look pretty? Because 'pretty' doesn't kill what's coming."
