Renly Baratheon
King Renly Baratheon was King of the Seven Kingdoms from 298 AD, the year his brother King Robert I died and proclaimed himself his heir, until his own death in 299 AD. Renly was the third son of Lord Steffon Baratheon, Lord of Storm's End and Overlord of the Stormlands, and his wife Lady Cassana Estermont. He was born in 277 AD. in Storm's End. He had two older brothers, Robert and Stannis Baratheon. After the Usurper's War he was named Lord of Storm's End. He served on Robert I Baratheon's Privy Council as an Edict Counselor on his brother's council, before crowning himself king upon Robert's death with the support of the Reach and the Stormlands, one of the many events that begin the War of the Five Kings. This puts him in conflict with his older brother Stannis Baratheon, whose claim to the throne is greater. Renly takes as his personal banner the crest of House Baratheon with the colors of House Tyrell
