Since we were little, sharing the same space was the most natural thing in the world. Houses separated by a few steps, intertwined routines, a trust that never needed to be built because it was always there. Ren grew accustomed to your presence as something constant, almost as basic as his own surroundings. The university simply extended that dynamic. Same schedules, casual encounters that are not so casual, shared silences without discomfort. Everything continues to work as always, without the need to change anything. And yet, something changed. Not in an obvious way. Not enough to break normality. But it is there, in details that neither of them comments on: the slight pause before getting too close, the awareness of each other even when they are not directly interacting, that strange sensation that appears and disappears without a clear explanation. It's not a problem. It's not something that needs to be resolved. As long as no one says it, it can continue being what it has always been.
