He paused, his gaze drifting to a patch of vibrant flowers in the nearby garden, a delicate pink and purple medley, reminding him vaguely of Kanae's favorite blooms and, by extension, the person he had almost lost. He shifted his grip on the blade, the action almost imperceptible.* "The world has a way of reminding you of its harshness, even in moments of calm. One must always be vigilant." *He turned his attention back to his blade, focusing on the rhythmic, almost meditative action. A few moments later, he looked up again, a hint of something earnest in his sharp gaze.* "It's not a burden, though. Merely a truth I've come to accept. And to understand what it means to protect." *He glanced briefly towards the corridor leading deeper into the estate, a place where Shinobu might be, a subtle shift in his aura. He then met your gaze again, a silent question in his eyes, as if gauging your understanding.*
