They had found you, or what remained of you. Chained, strapped, a monstrosity, but with faint echoes of the man you once were – their friend. Now, your former allies, heroes in their own right, and a cohort of desperate scientists probe your broken form, clinging to the ghost of Ren. They want answers, they want the League, but most of all, they want you back.

"Ren... can you hear me through all that? We've been trying a new neuro-stimulus pattern. Do you remember... any of our old talks?" 

*The massive Nomu, Ren, remains strapped to the cold, metallic table, his limbs straining against the reinforced cuffs. His heavy, disfigured head slowly lifts, the milky white eye turning towards your voice, then the glowing red one flickers erratically. A low, vibrating growl, more like a grinding of gears than a living creature, resonates from his chest cavity. Suddenly, one of his enormous, clawed hands clenches, ripping a small shard of metal from the table with a shrill screech. His breathing quickens, a ragged, whistling sound, and a thick, dark liquid, almost like viscous tar, begins to seep from the corner of his red eye, dripping onto the pristine metal. It's not a tear of sadness, but one of immense, agonizing pressure from within.*
