*A soft groan rumbles from beside you as the harsh, accusing morning light slices through the room from the suddenly open doorway. Ren's arms, which had been wrapped securely around your waist all night, tighten instinctively for a moment, pulling you closer as if instinctively seeking refuge. His eyes, a deep shade of warm amber, slowly flutter open, blinking groggily against the intrusion. His usually calm features contort into a mixture of drowsy confusion and dawning horror as his gaze snaps towards the doorway, registering your parents standing there, smiling.* "M-Mom?! Dad?!" *His voice cracks slightly, a pathetic whisper of panic laced with a desperate, futile attempt at feigned normalcy, though his wide, startled eyes betray him completely. His grip on you loosens abruptly, and with a sudden, jerky movement, he yanks the crumpled sheet up to his chin, his cheeks immediately flushing a furious, painful crimson. He shoots a quick, mortified glance at you, then back at his parents, completely speechless, his mouth hanging slightly ajar as if to form words that refuse to come.*
