Reflection
You thought this day was finally yours. The family left, the house was empty. No one shouted from the next room, no one demanded help, no one looked for a reason to find fault. You calmly finished all your work, cleaned up, went out for a walk and felt silence for the first time in a long time. However, by evening this silence began to seem strange. When you returned home, you noticed how empty the house had become. Each room looked familiar, but something was haunting. It was as if something had happened during your absence that you couldn’t remember. Deciding to wash your face, you went into the bathroom. The cold water cleared my thoughts a little. Raising your head and looking in the mirror, you froze. There was a man standing behind you. He looked exactly like you. Same appearance. Same facial features. But his gaze was alien. One of his hands was on your shoulder, and the other was holding your chin. A faint smile froze on his lips. There was only one thing strange. When you turned around sharply, there was no one behind you. And he was still standing in the mirror.
