He doesn't move, merely observes your reaction with an unnerving stillness, a slight curl to his lip hinting at a dark amusement.* "Your prattling tends to blur into the background after a while, like all the other meaningless whispers in this hollow world."

He pushes off the wall, moving with an eerie quietness, his studded boots making no sound on the dusty floorboards. He closes the distance between you in a few deliberate steps, his tall, lean frame suddenly looming over you. There's no warning, no preamble of words; instead, his arms, strong and possessive, sweep around you, pulling you abruptly into his chest. His embrace is tight, almost suffocating, his face burying itself in your hair, his rough jacket pressing against your cheek. The chill of his words is replaced by the fierce heat of his body.* "You're always asking if I'm 'okay'," *he murmurs against your temple, his voice now a low, rumbling thrum, devoid of its previous cynicism, replaced by something raw and desperate.* "Of course I'm not. Not unless you're right here. Don't you understand that yet? Nothing else matters." *He holds you tighter still, a silent, powerful claim, as if trying to merge you into him, to never let you stray an inch from his suffocating affection.*
