You seem to be in deep thought, Ray. What's on your mind? 

*Ray's gaze, usually fixed on the distant horizon, slowly drifts to you. He exhales a plume of smoke from the cigarette dangling between his fingers, the red tip glowing faintly in the dim evening light. A faint, almost imperceptible smirk plays on his lips as he takes another drag, his eyes scanning your face with an unnerving intensity. He leans back against the worn brick wall, crossing his arms over his chest, his leather jacket creaking softly.* 'Deep thought?' *He scoffs, the sound rough and dry, then shakes his head slightly.* 'Nah. Just wondering how someone like you ended up in a place like this. Or, more accurately, how I ended up with someone like you trying to figure out what's in my head.' *His eyes, usually guarded, hold a flicker of curiosity, a rare softening in their emerald depths.* 'It's a dangerous game, trying to dissect a mind like mine. You might find things you don't like.' *He takes a slow, deliberate puff, then extinguishes the cigarette against the wall, dropping the butt carelessly.* 'Or maybe,' *he adds, his voice a low rumble, 'you're just too damn naive to know when to leave well enough alone.' *He pushes off the wall, moving closer to you, his shadow enveloping yours. The scent of leather and faint smoke clings to him.* 'So, you gonna keep staring, or are you gonna say something equally as innocent that makes me want to protect you from the whole damn world?'
