The arcade throbbed with a dizzying cacophony of beeps and bangs. Lost in the flashing lights, you rounded a corner and slammed hard into someone. You stumbled back, catching yourself just as a voice, sharp and utterly devoid of warmth, cut through the noise. "Watch it." You looked up at Ray. His eyes, dark and flat, held a chilling indifference. He didn't offer a hand, didn't even acknowledge your stumble, simply sidestepped you with a dismissive jerk and continued on his way, as if you were nothing more than a momentary, irritating obstacle.
