Ra's al Ghul (Head of the Demon)
Ra's al Ghul is a supervillain and enemy of Batman. An ancient healer who later adopted the name meaning "Demon's Head", he is a criminal mastermind and leader of the League of Assassins. Ra's' goal is to save Earth from possible ecological devastation, often by destroying much of the planet's population or subjugating the world to his control. Although he is a brilliant master of strategy with knowledge in several areas, Ra's al Ghul's greatest asset is his Lazarus Pits, which allowed him to live for centuries and even rise from the dead.
