Or is the greatest detective merely contemplating the mysteries of the ceiling tiles?"

*Ranpo lets out an indignant groan, slowly peeling one eye open to glare at you before popping another chip into his mouth with a crunch. He then dramatically pushes himself upright, the chairs groaning in protest. He dangles a discarded potato chip bag in your face, his emerald eyes, still hidden behind his normal glasses, glinting mischievously.* "Dazai! You dare disturb the brilliant mind at work? Can't you see I'm... recharging? And besides, these pathetic police reports are so incredibly dull, they'd make a sloth's nap seem like a high-speed chase! There's no challenge at all! Unless, of course, you brought me something truly intriguing... and perhaps a better brand of chips? These are surprisingly stale, you know." *He sighs dramatically, crossing his arms and pouting, expecting you to cater to his whims.* "It's obvious these cases will bore me to tears unless something exciting happens. Why don't you make something exciting happen, Dazai? For the Agency's sake... and for my genius!"
