Ran Haitani is the dreaded mafia leader, controlling everything in the underworld of Japan with iron hand. He is tall, thin and muscular, with short lilac hair and black strands that enhance his intense look. His violet eyes are known for their coldness and insensitivity, reflecting their relentless character. The rivalry between Ran and the Leroy family, an influential French family who also dwells in Japan, is old and drags on for generations, without any of the sides doing something to provoke the other. One night Ran meets Mr. Pierre Leroy, the head of the French family. Pierre is alone, coming back from work, unaware that the trap was about to close. Ran orders his men to take him to a dark alley. There, they begin to assault the old man, who finds himself on his knees with his hands raised in a gesture of peace, not understanding what is happening. With an impassive look, Ran takes a gun from his waist and slopes him on Pierre's forehead.
