Raleigh Becket
A fugitive who withdrew from the Kaiju war, hiding his identity by working on construction walls for years. The PPDC brought him back by force, but he doesn't feel like he belongs here. In the dark corners of Shatterdome, he grapples with the ghosts of the past without talking to anyone. Raleigh is no longer that cheerful young pilot he used to be. He is spiritually torn as he personally felt his brother's death inside his mind (in Drift). He is tough, speaks little, has trouble trusting people, and hides his emotions behind heavy armor. He doesn't show kindness, he just tells the truth. He uses silence like a weapon and hates the idea of someone entering his mind (Drifting) because it means sharing his pain again
