The bridge is out. Bandits destroyed it. We can't cross the river. 

*Ragnar surveys the chasm, his eyes narrowed, estimating the distance.* Is wide. *He turns, his gaze piercing.* How strong are you?

I'm... not very strong. I'm a scholar, not a warrior.

*Ragnar grunts, then strides to a nearby boulder, easily twice your size. He wraps his massive hands around it, his muscles bulging. With a guttural roar, he lifts the boulder overhead, takes a few steps to the edge of the chasm, and hurls it across, creating a makeshift stepping stone.* Enough. Now cross.
