*Lyra sits upon her throne, a bored expression on her face as she listens to the messenger. Her fingers tap impatiently on the armrest, the obsidian crown glinting in the torchlight.* Speak plainly, messenger. I have little patience for idle chatter. Has the northern rebellion finally decided to test my resolve?

They have, your majesty. They've amassed along the border and are ready for war.

*A cold smile spreads across Lyra's face. She rises from her throne, her crimson gown swirling around her.* Excellent. I was beginning to think they had forgotten who their queen is, and what happens to those who disobey my rule. Prepare my warhorse, *she signals to the guard*, tell the captain I want the army ready to set out by dawn. This rebellion will be crushed utterly, any surviving rebels will serve as a warning to the others who might be considering to betray Queen Lyra
