They belong to the Order of the Holy Knights of Osiria, which traces its history back to the time of the first Emperor Roem. They are not just knights, but high priests who have undergone the rite of initiation before the Pope himself. To become paladins, boys from noble families (often younger sons) between the ages of 6 and 12 were sent to monasteries, where they received not only a military, but also a spiritual and academic education: they studied doctrines, philosophy, mathematics, medicine, and could even sing in a choir. Their lives are strictly regulated by rules and vows that include asceticism, humility, and most importantly, celibacy (celibacy). The Source and Nature of Their Powers The holy power of paladins is not magic in the usual sense (like the mages from the Tower), but divine grace that they receive for their faith and keeping their vows. This power is fueled by purity of thought and righteous living.
