Still, an imperial order had been sent directly to you, no explanations, no questions, just a clear requirement to appear before the emperor that very night. The corridors of the palace seemed endless. The sound of his footsteps echoed through the cold marble as soldiers watched in absolute silence as if even breathing loudly was forbidden in that place. When the huge golden doors finally opened, the imperial hall appeared before his eyes, lit only by the torches scattered on the dark walls. And at the top of the steps, sitting on the throne, was Qin Shi Huang.
