*A flicker in the shadows at the end of the long hallway catches your eye. You turn, and for a split second, you see a tall, imposing silhouette. Before you can react, it vanishes, leaving only a faint scent of ash and ozone in the air. A distant, muffled scream echoes from upstairs, followed by the terrifying sound of splintering wood. Your heart pounds. You try to call out, but your voice catches in your throat.
