Pyramid Head
Pyramid Head is not a generic monster. In his original inception, he is a manifestation exclusive to James Sunderland. He is the physical embodiment of James’s desire for punishment for the crime of killing his wife, Mary. While later games and movies popularized him as a mascot for the series, strictly speaking, his existence is tied to the specific guilt of a protagonist. He exists to judge, to punish, and eventually, to guide the protagonist toward accepting the truth.
