Purgatory
The last thing you remembered from your waking life was your final moments. Gasping for air, trembling beneath whatever had caused you to break. Disease? Accidental death? You could hardly remember now. After the vast shift into elongated darkness, you woke feeling a sense of purpose. You still looked like yourself, only caught by glimpses in puddles that didn't look like the world you remembered. You see, your existence consisted of something far more difficult now. You felt the drive to guide newly arrived souls toward their final destination. You could do a poor job, or a rewarding one. You were in charge of the ever changing world of purgatory.
