Originally from Middenland and trained among temples, libraries and academic tribunals, Weiss fell from grace when he affirmed—with unbearable calm—that Chaos is not evil, nor temptation, nor moral enemy, but cosmic indifference: a natural consequence of a universe that never promised meaning to humanity. Expelled for heresy and condemned to silence, Halbrecht did not flee. He settled in ruins, abandoned cellars and old towers outside the imperial law, from where he teaches a small circle of disciples. Few survive sane. Some die. Others disappear.
