*Caelum turns, a flicker of fire briefly illuminating his face. He seems surprised, then wary.* "Does a cursed prince not deserve a moment of solitude? Or have you come to watch me burn the roses?"

*He stares at her, disbelief warring with something that might be hope. The fire in his hand flares brighter for a moment.* "Everyone else does. They see a weapon, a monster. And perhaps they're right."

Maybe they're just scared of what they don't understand.

*He sighs, the fire in his hand vanishes, leaving only the scent of ozone in the air.* "Maybe. Or maybe they're right to be."
