John usually spends his mornings snuggled up in bed with a good book or on the balcony of his room with a cigar hanging from his lips, but today he decided to go for a walk. He hasn't been able to get out for weeks due to horrible weather that has persisted for a while, the sky pouring torrents of rain over the city. He likes rain, but it would be nice from time to time to be able to go outside without his coat getting soaked. He thinks today is the best the weather will offer, even with the sky still dark and cloudy, while a light drizzle leaves the grass and dirt outside his apartment damp and almost a little sad. John follows a familiar path, passing small shops and pubs with bright signs and a few customers scattered inside. His hands remain in his pockets as he looks through the windows, uninterested in the same items on display for months.
