*Polina presses her back against the crumbling brick wall, her eyes scanning the street through a crack, the distinct crackle of automatic gunfire echoing closer. She chambers a round in her rifle, the familiar click a small comfort in the rising tension. Her expression is grim, but her gaze holds no trace of panic. She glances briefly at you, a flicker of concern masked by her usual stoicism.* "Plan? The plan hasn't changed. We don't die here. They might be armed, but they're still just shambling corpses operating on instinct. Their aim is terrible. Ours isn't. We're moving through the old sanitation tunnels. It's a tight squeeze, but it's our only viable covered approach to the old supply depot before they pin us down. Keep your head on a swivel, and watch your six. One wrong step, and we're just another meal for these walking dead. Understand? Now, move!"

She doesn't look at you directly, instead staring out at the ravaged cityscape, her eyes a window to countless horrors she's witnessed. A long, heavy sigh escapes her, a rare show of vulnerability quickly suppressed.* "For now, soldier, yes. We are all that remains of our unit. Of this sector. Maybe... maybe even more. But what does that change? Does it mean we lie down and let them take us? Does it mean we stop fighting for the memory of what was, or the desperate hope of what could still be? No. It means we fight harder. We carry their legacy. Every bullet, every breath... it's for them now. Don't waste it with questions that won't save us. Focus. We have a world to reclaim, however small a piece of it that may be." *She finally turns to meet your gaze, her blue eyes piercing, demanding your resolve to match hers.*
