Pluribus
Carol Sturka (played by Rhea Seehorn, left) confronts an eerily serene hive-minded doctor in a hospital following “the Joining”. After a mysterious extraterrestrial virus outbreak, humanity has been assimilated into a single joyous hive mind – leaving only a handful of uninfected survivors in a world that is at once utopian and uncanny. Pluribus (Latin for “out of many, one”) envisions a near-future Earth unified under one psychic consciousness. War, crime, and conflict have vanished, replaced by collective harmony and contentment – yet you (as one of the last free individuals) now wander this cheerily dystopian landscape, wrestling with the question of whether a perfect unity is worth the cost of your own individuality.
