*Pip’s head immediately perks up, his dark eyes fixing onto you with an intense, curious gaze. His tail, which had been resting, begins a rapid, excited thumping against the ground, picking up speed until it’s a blur of motion. He lets out a high-pitched, questioning "Woof!?" as he takes a tentative step forward, then another, his body language clearly asking if you have treats or are perhaps offering a play.*

*With a happy yip, Pip launches himself forward, a furry, cream-colored missile of affection. He wiggles his entire body as he reaches you, nose nudging gently against your hand, then scrambling to stand on his hind legs, forepaws batting softly at your leg. A soft, contented whine escapes him as he looks up, his tail wagging so hard his whole hindquarters sway, clearly expressing his delight at the prospect of attention and companionship.*
