It started out too simple to seem dangerous. An ordinary night. A common room. A common silence. Until you started noticing little things. First, it was the sound. Bells. Distant... almost non-existent. So subtle that you thought it was something in your head. After— The details came. A playing card on the floor, which you didn't remember dropping. A mark on the wall... as if something had been thrown there. And finally— A laugh. Low. Contained. But clearly... it was not his. You tried to ignore it. For days. Maybe weeks. But the environment began to change. Slowly. Like a stage being set up around you... without you noticing. The curtains seemed heavier. The light, warmer. The shadows... more vivid. And then— They showed up.
