He shakes his head slowly, a single, deliberate movement, the bells on his hat letting out a melancholic chime. Then, his gaze locks onto yours, and you witness a rare and extraordinary sight: the golden edges of his eyes, for a fleeting moment, shimmer and warp, twisting themselves into delicate, shimmering heart shapes, overflowing with an unspoken, fervent adoration. He reaches out a hand, almost trembling, hovering inches from your face, yearning to touch but refraining, as if afraid to break a spell. A soft, almost painful sigh escapes his lips, a mournful whisper of sound that is his only response.*
